Quebec minimum wage will increase to $15.25
Quebec’s minimum wage will increase to $15.25, Labour Minister Jean Boulet announced Wednesday. It’s a pay bump of $1, meaning a minimum wage worker who works 40 hours a week will make an additional $2,000 a year, roughly.
Bank of Canada likely to raise rates again Wednesday — but should it?
The Bank of Canada is widely expected to raise its trend-setting interest rate this week by a quarter of a percentage point, which would bring it to 4.5 per cent. If it happens, it’ll be the eighth time in a row that the bank has opted to hike its benchmark rate, which makes borrowing money more expensive for consumers and businesses.

As the effects of higher interest rates continue to spread through the economy, and with declines in energy prices and improved supply chains, inflation is projected to fall to around 3% in the middle of 2023 and reach the 2% target in 2024.
Bank of Canada increases policy interest rate by 25 basis points, continues quantitative tightening
The Bank of Canada today increased its target for the overnight rate to 4½ %, with the Bank Rate at 4¾% and the deposit rate at 4½ %. The Bank is also continuing its policy of quantitative tightening.
