Meet Nuttha Goutier, CFE!

Nuttha Goutier is the Founder & CEO of Sabai Thai Spa, a Thai-inspired wellness franchise with locations across Canada. She is a Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) and a proud member of the Canadian Franchise Association (CFA).
What inspired you to join the CFE program?
I believe that strong leadership comes from a willingness to keep learning. As Sabai Thai Spa continued to grow, I knew I had a responsibility to elevate not only my business knowledge but also the structure and support we offer our franchisees. The CFE program gave me access to practical tools, meaningful conversations, and a deeper understanding of franchising as both an industry and a movement. I joined because I wanted to lead with intention — and build something that lasts.
What does having your CFE Designation mean to you?
It’s more than a title — it’s a commitment. Having the CFE designation means I’ve taken the time to understand the franchise model inside and out, and I’m now better equipped to serve the people who trust in our system. It also means I’m part of a network of professionals who share values of excellence, ethics, and collaboration. That community means a lot to me.
What has been the most challenging part of obtaining your designation?
Balancing CFE coursework with the realities of running a business was definitely a challenge — especially during seasons of growth and expansion. But I learned that growth doesn’t come from ease. It comes from showing up, asking questions, and applying what you learn in real time. The CFE journey pushed me to slow down, reflect more strategically, and connect the dots between education and impact.
Do you have any advice for current CFE participants or those looking to get started?
Start with your why. Don’t approach the CFE like a checklist — approach it as an opportunity to build the foundation of the leader you want to become. Stay curious, take notes, talk to others in the community, and apply the learning to your business right away. And most importantly: trust that investing in your own growth will always benefit those around you.
