Immediately following the success of the 2023 CFA Franchise Law Day, the CFA is pleased to announce the 2024 CFA Franchise Law Day will be held on September 19, 2024 in Toronto, Ontario.
The Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) invites Canada-based franchise lawyers and in-house counsel to submit an expression of interest to serve as Co-Chairs for the 2024 event.
The CFA Franchise Law Day provides critical insights into the most pressing legal developments facing Canada’s thriving yet highly competitive franchise environment. Led by some of Canada’s foremost lawyers, workshops and presentations typically take a best practice approach to provide the greatest practical information for attendees and their franchise systems.
Co-Chairs’ Roles and Responsibilities:
The Co-Chairs will work closely with a committee consisting of previous Franchise Law Day Co-Chairs. With the assistance and support of CFA staff, the Co-Chairs will lead the committee to develop an event theme, prepare and finalize the outline of the agenda, suggest presenters, determine the timing for topics/workshops, create topic/workshop descriptions, contact speakers, and assist in content development for promotional materials. This is a hands-on role and will require availability for monthly and ad hoc meetings as well as volunteer work between those meetings.
The Co-Chairs’ responsibilities during the event will include the introduction of the event, the introduction of the workshop and plenary topics and speakers, assisting in facilitating question and answer sessions, and making closing remarks. The Co-Chairs are not permitted to make lengthy or formal presentations, to dominate the event, or to engage in self-promotion.
Co-Chairs will continue to participate on the committee for an additional 4 years after co-chairing this year’s Franchise Law Day.
The Proposal Process is Easy
To submit your proposal to Co-Chair the CFA Franchise Law Day, fill the Volunteer Form and submit a brief resume highlighting any previous legal conference planning experience. Submission ends on January 31, 2024.
