Ghost kitchens are one of the hottest trends in foodservice. Ghost kitchens offer the opportunity to expand quickly and reach new customers, very often with lower up-front capital expenditures.
Drawing from success stories in the marketplace, this session will explain the various models of ghost kitchen found in the marketplace today. We will examine what makes ghost kitchens an effective model for franchisors to scale their concept and reach new customers. We will identify that questions that a franchisor should consider to determine which ghost kitchen model is right for them and will discuss the legal issues and franchisee-relationship considerations that franchisors should be aware of.
In this session, you will:
1. Understand what a “ghost” or “dark” kitchen is, and what different models can be found in the marketplace today.
2. Understand how ghost kitchens could help a franchisor scale its concept and reach new customers.
3. Be given practical tips to help a franchisor determine which model of ghost kitchen might be the right fit.
4. Understand the legal issues and franchisee-relationship considerations that a franchisor should consider before going into ghost kitchens.

We are excited to share that we are launching our first Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) Program course!
The Canadian Franchise Association’s (CFA) Fran-Guard course is based on the International Franchise Association’s (IFA) Fran-Guard program and is a mandatory component of the CFE Program. This course was created to safeguard your franchise by having your key employees fully trained on the franchise sales management and compliance process. It gives you the tools to manage your compliance program and avoid costly mistakes that can potentially wreck your franchise system.
CFA’s Fran-Guard course is presented in 5 modules which can easily be viewed in segments and at your own pace. The course is recognized for 300 CFE Education credits. Upon completion of a quiz at the end of the course, you will receive a certificate of course completion.
CFA’s Fran-Guard program is for senior executives, franchise development professionals and compliance managers. The program features both the legal and business aspects of compliance with practical tips that can lead to increased franchise sales and stronger franchise relations. Compliance not only reduces risk, but it can result in better company profits.
