Did You Know?

Entrepreneurs launching and growing their businesses will be a key driver to Canada’s economic recovery. But women entrepreneurs face unique challenges to starting and scaling their businesses. Fostering women in business ownership and closing the gender gap in entrepreneurship can add up to $81 Billion to Canada’s GDP.*

Progress on gender equity starts with a commitment at the top. C-Suites and decision-makers of businesses must recognize the economic and social importance of advancing women’s entrepreneurship and workforce participation as part of business and economic recovery plans.

CFA’s Elevate & Empower: Female Leadership During Uncertain Times virtual conference on May 13, 2021 features a session from the Hon. Jill Dunlop, Associate Minister of Children and Women’s Issues, on how the Canadian government is supporting women entrepreneurship with a $5 Billion investment in the Women Entrepreneurship Strategy. View Full Agenda

CFA member businesses can take a leadership role in gender equity and economic recovery.

Register your company to attend and participate in the CFA’s Elevate & Empower: Female Leadership During Uncertain Times virtual conference on May 13, 2021 to learn how you can support and harness the potential of women to strengthen and grow your business, and the economy, post-pandemic.

Together, men and women in the Canadian franchise community can make positive change and transform our vision of empowering women, advancing diversity and inclusion, and economic recovery into reality.

How Online Training Does the Heavy Lifting when Training Your Team in a Post-Pandemic World
Wednesday, May 12, 2021 | 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM ET

We’re all tired of the current pandemic and making adjustments to how we do business, but the truth is that some of the changes will be long-lasting or even permanent. How we train our teams, from head office to the front line, needs to adapt to “pandemic protocols” while still being easily available, affordable, and able to deliver the training outcomes you need.

It’s time for every franchise business to explore how much heavy lifting Online Training can offer to help you reach your business goals. Join Brayden Anderson, Neovation Learning Solutions Franchise Specialist to explore how online training – both LMS-based and through micro-learning – can help your franchise deliver training, measure training outcomes and deliver training ROI. Online training is the cost-effective way to face the challenges of training in a post-pandemic world.

Going into 2020, no one expected that COVID-19 would shake the economy, world, and our personal and professional lives in the way it did. Now, after more than one year living through a pandemic with multiple, rigorous lockdowns, the Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) and our members are navigating how to strategically and successfully operate in this “new normal.”

As 2020 was a year like no other, this 2021 CFA Accomplishments Report will also look different than in previous years. The pages of this report tell the detailed story of how the CFA quickly responded and adapted to new challenges brought about by the pandemic to continue to meet the needs of our member community.

Focusing on each of the four pillars of the CFA’s strategic plan, this report will outline our Association accomplishments over the past year, including many exciting “firsts,” in the key areas of community, education, advocacy, and lead generation. We will also take a detailed look at the resources that were provided to help support our members throughout COVID-19, including daily updates, resources, webinars, and critical advocacy work.

While the past 12 months have been difficult, they also led to tremendous innovation within not only the CFA, but the entire Canadian franchise community. As we embark on what will surely be another difficult year, it is important to take the time to reflect on the CFA’s journey through COVID-19 with our member community, focusing on how far we have all come in revamping and improving our operations to better serve Canadian franchising and our communities in this challenging time.

CFA Franchise CEO Forums

“Being the CEO is a very lonely position and we need a support group of trusted individuals who are in the same place and understand what we are all going through in order to prop each other up and help us achieve the most we can.”

If you are a CEO, President, or Founder of a franchise brand, you need to be part of CFA’s Franchise CEO Forums.

The CFA Franchise CEO Forums are small, confidential, and facilitated discussion groups of 8 – 12 CEOs, Presidents, and Founders of franchise systems of similar sizes. The purpose of these forums is to create a safe, private, and trustful environment for franchise system leaders to discuss concerns and the challenges they face in their businesses.

The Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) is about harnessing the power of our member community to help each other. We believe in being Better Together and Growing Together™. Now more than ever before, CFA members need to support each other as we move through the global pandemic and its impact on our businesses.

Our goal is to help you create mutually-beneficial, one-to-one relationships with fellow franchise system leaders so you can gain confidential resources who you can rely on for honest insights and perspectives whenever you face a business challenge that keeps you up at night!
