Join this interactive roundtable conversation exploring how unconscious bias can influence workplace interactions, communication, decision-making, and team culture. Through reflection, discussion, and real-world examples, participants will explore how assumptions show up in everyday workplace moments and consider practical ways to make more intentional and inclusive choices.

This session will encourage open dialogue, personal reflection, and shared learning as we examine the role each of us plays in building more inclusive workplaces.

Participants will explore:

• How unconscious bias shapes the way we perceive, communicate, and make decisions
• Where bias can show up in hiring, leadership, collaboration, and workplace culture
• Practical strategies for recognizing assumptions and making more intentional choices

Facilitators:

Rabeena Obaidullah has experience advising clients in various areas of labour and employment law, including employment standards, employment litigation and dispute resolution, disability and accommodation, harassment and discrimination, labour arbitrations, and general day-to-day decision-making. Rabeena regularly drafts employment agreements, termination letters, workplace policies and handbooks.

Prior to joining Littler as an associate, Rabeena articled and summered at Littler. During law school, Rabeena worked as a student caseworker for Legal Aid Ontario and volunteered as a legal representative for REACH Canada, providing support and assistance to people with disabilities.

Kelly Ma currently serves as Senior Director, People and Talent, at Mr. Lube + Tires. She has spent 13 years in Canada’s auto care industry, with over seven of those being at Mr. Lube + Tires. Throughout her career, Kelly has known the importance of mentorship, growth, and embracing new opportunities.
