BeaverTails Proudly Opens Two New Quebec Locations

New locations reflect company’s proven ‘destination’ strategy and new Covid-19-responsive ‘community’ strategy

BeaverTails, makers of unique and delicious BeaverTails® pastries, today announced the official opening of two new locations in Quebec, Canada: 1049 rue Saint-Jean in historic Old Quebec City and Les Avenues Vaudreuil, a shopping complex with 91 stores about 40 kilometers west of Montreal.

The selection of rue Saint-Jean is consistent with BeaverTails’ longstanding strategy of opening points-of-sale in established tourist destinations with high pedestrian traffic. Examples include amusement parks, ski hills and beach towns.

However, opening a location in a retail plaza represents a new strategy for BeaverTails – one that responds to the circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We continually renew our brand to keep it fresh and to maintain strong customer engagement,” explains Pino Di Ioia, CEO, BeaverTails. “We have updated the look of our shops and diversified our menu to include BeaverDogs™, Poutails™, BT Sips™, ice cream and sharable take-out-friendly items like BeaverBites™ and BeaverTails Brownie Pies™.”

“Destinations like Grouse Mountain, Banff Avenue, Toronto Waterfront, Mont Tremblant and Cavendish Beach will always be core to our brand. Our customers consistently tell us that they associate eating BeaverTails with special occasions and we understand the power of creating memories by associating BeaverTails with vacations and good times.”

“Now, in order to make BeaverTails more accessible, we are also opening community shops in locations like shopping plazas. This strategy was initiated before Covid-19 but the pandemic was a major accelerator. In an era when travel may be challenging, community points-of-sale make the BeaverTails experience readily accessible at short notice without significant travel,” concludes Pino.

Today, there are 195 BeaverTails points-of-sale in six countries. More than 20 new locations are expected to open this year – the majority will be community shops across Canada.
