Bento Turns Up the Heat with New Nashville Hot Chicken Roll

East-meets-South fusion brings Nashville heat, crunch, and tang to Bento’s freshly handcrafted sushi

Bento is turning up the heat with the launch of its new Nashville Hot Chicken Roll, a bold fusion offering that brings the unmistakable flavours of one of North America’s hottest food trends to the sushi counter.

The new roll reimagines Nashville hot chicken through a sushi lens, combining crispy Nashville Hot Chicken Katsu with house-made dill pickles and a creamy coleslaw blend of green and red cabbage, and carrots. Wrapped in seasoned sushi rice, the roll is finished with crispy fried pickle chips, Nashville Hot Sauce, and Nashville Spicy Mayo for a combination of heat, crunch, creaminess, and tang.

The launch taps into the continuing popularity of Nashville hot chicken, a flavour profile that has moved well beyond its Southern roots to become a fast-casual favourite across North America. Bento’s take reflects the growing consumer appetite for familiar comfort foods reinvented in innovative, approachable new ways.

“The Nashville Hot Chicken Roll takes something familiar and completely reimagines it in a Bento way,” said Dave Jones, President and CEO of Bento. “It’s unexpected, indulgent, and a great example of how we continue to push the boundaries of what sushi can be.”

The Nashville Hot Chicken Roll is the latest in a series of new products Bento has introduced during its 30th anniversary year, including Canada’s first grab-and-go Scallop sushi lineup, and its summer hit, the Maple Salmon Sushi Roll, celebrating the flavours of Canada. The company continues to explore new flavours and formats designed for today’s grab-and-go consumer.

The Nashville Hot Chicken Roll is available beginning September 17 at participating Bento grocery, retail, and higher education locations across Canada, including Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, Zehrs, Metro, Longo’s, Walmart, Sobeys Atlantic Canada, and other participating retailers. Pricing will range from $13-$15 to account for regional and SKU-specific variations.
