British Swim School Launches Swim Pink Initiative in Support of Pink Pearl Canada for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Canadian families and communities are invited to join British Swim School in raising awareness and supporting young women affected by cancer

British Swim School, North America’s leading learn-to-swim provider, is making waves with the launch of its Swim Pink initiative throughout September and October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, in support of Pink Pearl Canada. British Swim School is joining families across its communities to honour those affected by breast cancer, celebrate survivors and remember those who have been lost.

As part of the campaign, British Swim School is offering limited-edition Swim Pink long-sleeve shirts, available now through September 28th. Proceeds from shirt purchases will benefit Pink Pearl Canada, a Canadian charitable organization that supports and empowers self-identifying young women between the ages of 18 and 40 who are facing cancer through peer support, wellness programs, counselling, educational resources and community connections.

Throughout October, British Swim School locations will Paint the Pool Deck Pink, with teams, swimmers and families encouraged to wear their Swim Pink shirts and show their support. Families visiting participating British Swim School locations can also take part by adding a dedication to the Swimming for Someone Special Wall, honouring a loved one, survivor or someone they have lost to cancer.

“Safety starts with awareness, whether we’re teaching a child their first water safety skill or coming together as a community to support families affected by cancer,” said Ashley Gundlach, President of British Swim School. “Throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re proud to honour those affected by breast cancer, celebrate survivors and remember those we’ve lost. Through Swim Pink, we’re proud to support Pink Pearl Canada and help create a stronger sense of community for young women and families affected by cancer.

Founded by ovarian cancer survivor Elise Gasbarrino, Pink Pearl Canada was created to address the unique social and emotional challenges young women can face following a cancer diagnosis. Today, the organization brings together young women across Canada through a network of peer support and innovative programs, including virtual wellness retreats, learning series, local social events, one-on-one counselling, support packages distributed through hospitals and cancer centres, and post-secondary scholarships.

With a mission to help swimmers of every age and ability build lifelong water competency, British Swim School’s curriculum is rooted in a survival-first philosophy that prioritizes essential water safety and life-saving skills. Whether helping swimmers build safer habits around water or supporting families affected by cancer, British Swim School believes awareness can make a meaningful difference. Through initiatives like Swim Pink, the brand is extending its commitment to supporting families and communities beyond the pool.
