Subway® Franchise Owners implement enhanced health and cleaning standards, easy ordering, and Under $5 Value Menu as doors reopen for guests
Subway® Canada is announcing the reopening of Subway® Restaurant locations across Canada this month. As they open their doors, local Subway® Restaurants are adapting to meet the needs of the communities they serve with new and enhanced health and safety measures, expanded ordering options and a new Under $5 Value Menu to make it easier than ever to access freshly prepared Subway® favourites.*
For decades, Canadians have been coming to Subway® to enjoy quality meals freshly prepared right in front of them. Canadians put their trust in Subway® and the Sandwich Artists™ who build their meal just the way they like. To help protect the wellbeing of its Franchise Owners, their employees and our guests, Subway Franchise Systems has developed new health and safety rules and guidelines to be implemented by Franchise Owners in every Subway restaurant across Canada:
- Introduced enhanced cleaning procedures, such as hourly restaurant cleanings, especially in high-touch areas such as door handles and credit card terminals
- Equipped restaurant employees with masks, installing plexiglass shields at registers, and implemented social distancing guidelines for guests and employees
- Issued guidance for conducting wellness checks of restaurant staff at the start of each shift
- Reinforced stringent health and food safety standards, like wearing single-use gloves when making sandwiches, required handwashing several times throughout each shift, and individually wrapping and sealing all subs
Subway® will also expand on its easy and convenient contactless ordering options with the introduction of curbside pickup. Curbside pickup will be available through the Subway® App in select locations across the country in the coming weeks. Guests can continue to enjoy Subway® via delivery, remote order or takeout.**

Subway® has also introduced a new Under $5 Menu at participating Subway locations. The menu offers a selection of classic favourites like the Cold Cut Combo, Meatball Marinara, and Veggie Delite® six-inch sandwich as well as the Egg & Bacon English Muffin all for less than five dollars.***
