The gender pension gap exists in virtually every retirement income system around the world. The range is remarkable with Japan having an almost 50% gap whereas Estonia’s gap is less than 5%. In Canada, the gap is around 20%.
Mercer has shared analysis on why the gaps exist but, more importantly, some of the short and long-term actions that can be taken to address the gap.
