Hellamaid offers two franchise paths so candidates can match their investment to their market. The Small Market model (towns under 40k population) runs ~$10,000–$20,000 all-in, with a $10,000 base franchise fee. The Large Market model (metros over 40k) runs ~$30,000–$40,000 all-in, with a $40,000 base fee.
Franchise fees scale at $200 per additional 1,000 in territory population beyond the base coverage. Startup cost covers equipment, initial marketing, software setup, and training. The model is asset-light and home-based to start, so capital goes toward growth rather than rent or buildouts. Ongoing fees are a 7% royalty and 2% brand fund, disclosed upfront. Detailed cost breakdowns are in the Franchise Disclosure Document, shared during due diligence.
The ideal Hellamaid franchisee is organized, can manage people, and will follow a proven system rather than reinvent it. Cleaning experience requirements depend on the model: the Small Market model is hands-on by design, so owner-operators should be comfortable in the field, especially in year one.
The Large Market model is manager-led — most of these franchisees come from outside cleaning entirely, in sales, tech, real estate, or operations backgrounds. Across both, the brand is built for owners who want a real, growing business, not a passive side project. We handle training, hiring playbooks, and the tech stack. The owner brings leadership and local commitment.
Hellamaid has cleaned 65,000+ homes across 90+ cities, earning 4,135+ five-star reviews and a 4.8★ average from thousands of customers. Founded in Guelph, Ontario in 2017 by two engineers, the company grew from 1,000 homes cleaned in year one to over $1.2M annual revenue by 2019 and a national network of 230+ professional cleaning partners by 2023. Franchisees inherit this brand recognition and operating system on day one rather than building credibility from zero.
