With many of our members being affected by the turbulence of the pandemic, the Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) shifted its content focus on social media accordingly. As an essential channel of communication for our members and the franchising community, much of the content published on the CFA’s Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and now TikTok accounts works to promote the resources and webinars the Association has provided to our members to help to navigate through these difficult times.

Our social platforms have been quite active with important updates and webinars, elevating the awareness of the franchise industry and promoting our virtual events: Virtual Franchise Canada Shows, Elevate & Empower: Female Leadership During Uncertain Times, Relaunch, Reset & Recover, and many more.[/penci_text_block][vc_empty_space][penci_text_block style_block_title=”style-title-13″ title=”THE CFA IS ON TIK TOK!” block_title_align=”style-title-left” background_title_color=”#1e73be” custom_markup_1=””]With an estimated 800 million active users around the globe, TikTok has emerged as a major player in the social media space, competing with the likes of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. TikTok – owned and developed by Chinese company Bytedance – has become increasingly popular amongst younger audiences thanks to the platform’s emphasis on shorter (three to 60 seconds) videos, usually used to show off dance moves, music, and other talent-inspired content.

In April, the CFA launched its very own TikTok account to tap in to the social media platform’s audience of young prospective franchisees to spread the word about the Canadian franchising industry![/penci_text_block][vc_column width=”1/3″][penci_text_block block_title_align=”style-title-left”]

Last year, the world saw a video by TikTok user Doggface208, featuring a man skateboarding to the tune of Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 hit “Dreams”, become massively viral. To date, the video has garnered 11.6 million “likes” on TikTok alone. It’s a great example of TikTok content’s ability to go viral quickly.

There are plenty of ways that CFA Members can take advantage of TikTok’s popularity and use the platform to promote their brands! CFA Members can use TikTok to:

  • Work with influencers, to spread content to a broader audience
  • Launch paid advertising campaigns
  • Engage audiences with “hashtag challenges”
  • Encourage user-generated content featuring people from the public interacting with your brand in a positive way.

The bottom line: TikTok provides a platform for brands to showcase their creative sides. With a seemingly endless library of music, filters, and videos in which brands can implement withib their TikTok posts, the platform provides a wide range of possibilities from a marketing perspective.

Check out how some CFA Members are using TikTok to showcase their franchise brands below![/penci_text_block][vc_column width=”1/3″][penci_text_block block_title_align=”style-title-left”]
