From our Family to Yours
75 years in the making, but only just beginning!
1943: Our story begins with Irena Kotas, who we lovingly call Babcia (Grandma in Polish). Babcia was raised in the mountainous region of southeast Poland where pierogi was a staple food that graced the tables of families throughout the region.
1990: Babcia’s daughter Lila, and her husband Jacek, emigrated to Ontario, Canada. 10 years later, Babcia joined the family in Canada to help raise her two grandchildren. This is how the authentic pierogi made its way from Poland to our table in Kitchener, Ontario!
2015: Jacek could no longer ignore the desire he had to bring the taste of the authentic pierogi to more than just immediate family and friends. It was time for Canada to taste real, authentic pierogi. And, thus, Pierogi House was born!
To ensure the quality of our most prized menu item, the pierogi, we produce all pierogi ourselves:
- Our centralized kitchen is the key to the brand
- Our team does the hardest part, we make all of the pierogies
- With our protected decades old recipe, we are uniquely able to offer authentic pierogies; a critical difference in quality and taste of commercial brands
- The Kitchen team is innovative! Always trying and testing new flavours of pierogi
Why Choose Pierogi House?
We are a growing company with a crystal-clear vision which is to share authentic pierogies and Polish items that our Babcia would be proud of.
It starts with the best pierogi
- Authentic, made with butter and real ingredients
- Anchored by classic favourites such as cheddar potato Reinforced by exciting unique gourmet flavours and limited time offers
- Delicious toppings that never overshadow the pierogi
Complemented with kielbasa & schnitzel, and beverages
- Expanding the Polish menu beyond pierogies and broadening the range of customers and wider dietary preferences
- Polish house drinks
- Polish alcohol (beer and spirits)
We also have a mini-market retail area that features desserts, frozen take-home pierogies, packs of kielbasa, jarred side salads, and more!
