Baskin-Robbins opened last week a new shop in Oshawa, Ontario, its 106th location in Canada, marking a special return to the city. Owned and operated by Kelly Wilson, an experienced franchisee, the location features the brand’s signature interior – spacious, bright and colourful – and will offer the complete lineup of ice cream flavours, frozen beverages and milkshakes, pre and fresh packs, growing delivery service and a wide assortment of cakes.
“There’s something magical about working with Baskin-Robbins,” says Wilson. “Perhaps it’s the history, the constant push for new flavours or the vibe in our shops – or perhaps it’s a combination. What’s clear is that this business is all about smiles, the joys of life and fun. When I saw the opportunity to help the brand return to Oshawa, I knew it was the right move for me and my family.”
Located at 2620 Simcoe Street North, near the intersection of Winchester Rd., Wilson and her team are committed to investing time and effort to offer guests a friendly attitude and carefully prepared desserts, but with a particular emphasis on cakes.
“I obviously enjoy ice cream, but I have an absolute passion for cakes,” says Wilson. “There’s a lot of joy in preparing a customized cake for a guest – knowing that they will enjoy it with loved ones and that the memory will last for years.”
With 25 years of prior experience in franchising, Wilson opened her own shop in Whitby in 2018. Supported by her family, she has hired an initial four employees and is still looking to fill another three part-time positions.
“Kelly has shown great service and hospitality to our guests in Toronto and the Durham Region and we’re super excited to see her lay down roots in Oshawa,” says Natalie Joseph, spokesperson for Baskin-Robbins Canada. “Adding a new shop to our network always brings a smile to our face.”
In celebration of the shop’s opening, as well as the brand’s 50th anniversary in Canada, Wilson and her team are offering guests a ‘buy-one/get-one at half price’ deal on medium Fresh Packs. The promotion runs to November 30.
