The medical aesthetics franchise brand hires experienced industry veteran to support growing brand
DermaEnvy Skincare, an industry leading laser, skincare and medical aesthetics franchise in Canada is excited to welcome Chris Richards to the new role of chief operating officer (COO) for the Nova Scotia based franchise system.
An industry veteran, he joins Team DermaEnvy with 17 years in the cosmetology/medical aesthetics industry in Atlantic Canada. He has held positions such as IT director, director of business development, and senior director of business operations throughout his time in the salon and spa business, leading the day-to-day operations of a 21-location chain with over 400 employees in Atlantic Canada.
Chris has also worked as an IT consultant in the salon and spa industry for over 10 years, building and implementing systems to support consultants across North America. He has also spent the past 2 years in the technology industry, leading a large professional service delivery team in providing technology solutions.
“We employed the efforts of Ontario based boutique recruiting firm, Beauty Incubator Recruitment Inc. to locate an experienced industry professional with multi-unit experience,” says Cohen MacInnis, president of Wellness Brands Canada Inc., franchisor of DermaEnvy Skincare brand. “We are excited to welcome Chris aboard Team DermaEnvy.”
Richards is driven by building strong relationships, growing leaders and people, and making a difference on a daily basis. “I am excited about the opportunity to continue to grow the DermaEnvy brand throughout Canada. I believe Cohen and Team has created a great culture and foundation for the company and I am looking forward to using my expertise and experience to build upon this.
For me, our clients’ experience is key, but it starts with our employees’ experience as they provide the clients’ experience, so I strongly believe in the words from Richard Branson, when he said, “…if you take care of your employees, they will take care of your clients.”
This marks a milestone for the growing brand of eleven medical aesthetic clinics, ten across Atlantic Canada, and one in Southeastern Ontario. “As we look to the future, we’re excited to build on this success and continue to innovate, grow the brand across Canada,” says MacInnis.
Earlier this Spring in April, 24-year-old franchisee, Alicia Baker of St.John’s, Newfoundland, won Gold as 2024 Franchisee of the Year in the traditional franchise (brick-and-mortar) category from the Canadian Franchise Association.
“We have a great opportunity ahead in terms of growing our team, our client base, and number of locations, and I look forward to the challenge.” says Richards.
