Kumon leads Entrepreneur’s list of franchises for less than $100,000
Kumon ranked No. 1 for the sixth consecutive year on Entrepreneur magazine’s Top 100 Franchises for Less Than $100,000.
“Earning Entrepreneur’s top spot on this list for the sixth year in a row is an honor and testament to Kumon’s commitment to a high-quality, low-cost franchise opportunity,” says Angelo Chavez, assistant vice president of franchise development for Kumon North America. “We take pride in offering dedicated entrepreneurs an affordable opportunity to build a thriving learning center without the financial burden.”
Kumon’s startup costs range from $73,123 to $165,360, depending on location, including the franchise fee of $2,000. In the U.S., Kumon offers up to $38,700 in incentives to cover some of the costs for a new Kumon Center, including rent reimbursement up to $1,000 per month, new center marketing, signage, furniture, carpet, and more. Veterans may qualify for an additional $10,000 incentive.
“Our incentives are designed to support our franchisees and allow them to focus on helping students reach their full potential,” Chavez adds.
Entrepreneur’s low-cost ranking is based on startup costs as well as inclusion in the magazine’s prestigious Franchise 500®, which reflects outstanding performance in areas such as costs and fees, size and growth, support, brand strength and financial strength and stability. Kumon has been ranked No. 1 in the education category for 24 consecutive years and in the Top 10 overall for five consecutive years.
Entrepreneur annually ranks three sets of low-cost franchises: those that cost less than $50,000, those that cost less than $100,000 and those that cost less than $150,000.
