Kumon ranked no. 1 low-cost franchise for sixth time

Kumon leads Entrepreneur’s list of franchises for less than $100,000

Kumon ranked No. 1 for the sixth consecutive year on Entrepreneur magazine’s Top 100 Franchises for Less Than $100,000.

“Earning Entrepreneur’s top spot on this list for the sixth year in a row is an honor and testament to Kumon’s commitment to a high-quality, low-cost franchise opportunity,” says Angelo Chavez, assistant vice president of franchise development for Kumon North America. “We take pride in offering dedicated entrepreneurs an affordable opportunity to build a thriving learning center without the financial burden.”

Kumon’s startup costs range from $59,415 to $155,815, depending on location, including the franchise fee of $2,000. In Canada, Kumon offers up to $29,777 in incentives to cover some of the costs for a new Kumon Centre, including new centre marketing, signage, furniture, carpet and more.

“Our incentives are designed to support our franchisees and allow them to focus on helping students reach their full potential,” Chavez adds.

Entrepreneur’s low-cost ranking is based on startup costs as well as inclusion in the magazine’s prestigious Franchise 500®, which reflects outstanding performance in areas such as costs and fees, size and growth, support, brand strength and financial strength and stability. Kumon has been ranked No. 1 in the education category for 24 consecutive years and in the Top 10 overall for five consecutive years.

Entrepreneur annually ranks three sets of low-cost franchises: those that cost less than $50,000, those that cost less than $100,000 and those that cost less than $150,000.
