VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., March 29, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Liberty Tax, Inc. (NASDAQ:TAX), the parent company of Liberty Tax Service, has named Cory Hughes as the Company’s Vice President of Area Development.

Hughes is a 16-year veteran of the tax industry, serving in various roles with H&R Block and Liberty Tax. He began his career at Liberty as a franchisee in 2003. After becoming the No. 1 new franchisee that year, he expanded his ownership with the Company and became an area developer in multiple markets. Hughes has consistently been a top franchise performer throughout his time with Liberty Tax. His accomplishments as a franchise owner led him to become an executive with Liberty Tax from 2006 to 2012, when he served as the Assistant Vice President of Franchise Operations. In that role, Hughes was instrumental in helping Liberty Tax franchise owners, area developers and corporate employees achieve Company growth during that time.
Along with the wealth of experience Hughes brings to the position, his appointment continues the franchise’s strategy to move industry leading franchisees into its executive ranks to build a winning corporate infrastructure.
