ServiceMaster Hires Transformation Officer

ServiceMaster Global Holdings Inc. — a residential and commercial services company — announced it hired Pratip Dastidar as senior vice president and chief transformation officer.

“Bringing Pratip onboard reflects our continued commitment to make ServiceMaster a strong, process-oriented, customer-focused organization,” said CEO of ServiceMaster Nikhil “Nik” Varty, in a release.

Dastidar will report directly to Varty and be charged with leading “company-wide initiatives to elevate the customer experience, simplify business processes and enhance productivity.”

Since joining the company in July, Varty has preached the importance of improving the customer experience. In a recent interview with the Memphis Business Journal, he said the company needed to become “obsessed with customer excellence.” Now, Dastidar will be responsible for leading that obsession.

Dastidar has worked at HP, Amazon, Applied Materials, WABCO, Honeywell and United Technologies. Most recently, he led process innovation at Salesforce. Varty was also previously employed by WABCO and Honeywell International.

ServiceMaster is currently undergoing several changes and new initiatives like its Amazon Key partnership, the future relocation of its headquarters to Downtown Memphis and its planned spin-off of American Home Shield.

ServiceMaster employs 13,000 companywide and its comprised of three business segments: Franchise Services Group, Terminix and American Home Shield. Another 33,000 people are independently employed via the franchise network.
