The Metal Supermarkets franchise network recently gathered in Tucson, Arizona, at the 2024 Annual Franchisee Conference. The “Peak Performance” themed conference, held from September 19-22, allowed Metal Supermarkets franchisees and corporate support staff to network, share ideas, and discuss the future of the business system, while also recognizing outstanding achievements from the past year.
“Our 2024 fiscal year ends September 30 and will be yet another strong year for Metal Supermarkets and our franchisees,” says Stephen Schober, president and CEO of Metal Supermarkets. “With our increased presence in Canada and the U.S., invoice and unit growth has been strong, and our dedicated and passionate franchisees have driven network success. We love to recognize their hard work and excellence at our conference while looking forward to Metal Supermarkets’ 40th anniversary in 2025.”
The conference offered franchisees the opportunity to attend presentations from Metal Supermarkets’ head office staff, engage in interactive discussions, and network with fellow franchisees. During the three-day event, franchisees were able to learn from and connect with each other while also gaining further insights into the brand’s status and business plans.
With over 120 attendees present, the annual awards banquet celebrated top-performance franchisees for a variety of accomplishments in 2024. This year’s standouts include:
- Michael Frank, franchisee of Metal Supermarkets, Atlanta (Northwest), Georgia, was awarded the Franchisee of the Year for his outstanding achievement and commitment to the business by demonstrating strength in performance, operational excellence and a true dedication to the brand.
- Michael Springer, franchisee of Metal Supermarkets, Lewisville, Texas, was presented with the Customer Experience Award that identifies the store which upholds Metal Supermarkets’ shared value of delivering world class customer service.
- Matt White of the Metal Supermarkets stores in Edmonton, Alberta, and Winnipeg, Manitoba, was presented with the Learning & Development Performance Award that showcases the franchisee that has demonstrated commitment to and execution of professional development and skills enhancement of their store team resulting in improved operations and customer service.
- The Rookie of the Year award was presented to Jeff Wolaver of the Metal Supermarkets store in Chattanooga, Tennessee, as the outstanding franchisee open less than two years.
- The Sales Growth award went to Jay Ali of the Metal Supermarkets store in Houston (Southeast), Texas, recognizing the store, open three years or more, that achieved the highest percentage growth over the previous year.
- Jean Anne Fraser of the Metal Supermarkets store in Calgary, Alberta, was presented with the Health & Safety award spotlighting the store that best represents our core value of “Operating in a Safe Environment.”
Recently recognized as a Top 15 retail franchise according to the 2024 Franchise 500 Rankings according to Entrepreneur Magazine, Metal Supermarkets is actively awarding locations to qualified individuals who have strong business acumen and customer service experience.
