Tanya and Matt Hazelwood will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this May, and have been business partners since the early 2000s. They joined the MaidPro brand in 2011 and have since grown to two locations in Greenwood and New Minas, Nova Scotia, with the hope to grow across more territories in their eastern province.
Before MaidPro, Tanya and Matt started their own cleaning business in 2001, which was an ideal fit for their lifestyles while their young kids, Nicholas and Anna, started going to school. The business they started from the ground up grew to a certain point until they discovered MaidPro and decided to join for the technology, tools, coaching, and marketing that helped take them to next level in their passion for the cleaning industry.
Today, February 21, marks Family Day in Canada—a holiday recently introduced to celebrate and spend time with loved ones, which can sometimes be overlooked with the hustle and bustle of busy daily lives. As part of Franchise Canada‘s online exclusive Diversity lineup, we talked to Tanya and Matt about their experience in franchising as husband-and-wife, unique challenges they’ve tackled, and advice they have for other family members who may be considering buying a franchise together. Who better to go into business with than the people who know you inside and out!
