Major League Eating (MLE) is back for the first time since the pandemic! World’s top eaters descend on Yonge-Dundas Square to challenge 28-pound poutine world record!
This summer, Smoke’s Poutinerie, the world’s largest and original Poutinerie, is bringing the BIGGEST EVER Poutine Powerhouse Party in Canada to Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square. Smoke-A-Palooza will take place on Saturday August 10, 2024, 11 a.m.-11 p.m.; this free event will offer the high-energy vibes of a music fest with the heartfelt mission of charity.
An event highlight, the World Poutine Eating Championship (WPEC) is celebrating its 15th year as the LARGEST Poutine Eating Competition and second largest Professional Eating competition in the world. This highly anticipated event, sanctioned by Major League Eating (MLE) is making an EPIC comeback for the first time since 2019, when Joey “Jaws” Chestnut set the World Record of 28 pounds of poutine consumed in 10 minutes!
This year’s lineup includes 5 of the top 10 ranked eaters in the world, #2-ranked Patrick Bertoletti, just back from his first place win at Coney Island, #3 Geoffrey Esper, #1 in Australia ranked #4 in the world, James Webb, #6 Nick Wehry, #1 in Canada ranked #10 in the world, Darrien Thomas and other top-ranked eaters.
The Ryan Smolkin Memorial CEO Challenge in support of We Care will also be featured with an impressive assembly of Canada’s business leaders, joining together in a spirited 2-min Poutine Eating Competition to raise money to send children with disabilities to fully accessible summer camps. To date, this initiative has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for We Care.
Also, featured in this 12-hour Fan-Centric Party is 360min of 80s Rock n’ Roll with Tribute Bands, Dust N’ Bones (Guns N’ Roses Tribute), 80s Gone Wild (Best of the 80s Tribute), Sheer Heart Attack (Queen Tribute) and Destroyer Canada (KISS Tribute), as well as, daredevil acts, roaming entertainers and many other ROCKIN’ activations, games, prizes, live experiences and selfie stations… did someone say DeLorean Time Machine?!
