Monday, August 13, Markham, Ontario – Mary Brown’s Chicken & Taters, Canada’s largest quick serve chicken restaurant, opened its first location in Walmart on Thursday, August 9, in Sylvan Lake, Alberta.
This first location in Walmart, Sylvan Lake, ushers in a new era for Mary Brown’s. Sylvan Lake will be followed shortly thereafter by other Mary Brown’s Walmart locations in Vernon, BC and Grant Park, MB – with further plans already in development.

Recent rebranding and store revitalization have reinvigorated the brand – in fact, Mary Brown’s Chicken & Taters has experienced exceptional growth throughout the chain, more than doubling its store count in the last ten years. Currently at about 140 stores across Canada, the goal is to reach 200 stores by 2020. International expansion of the brand is also underway in Europe and Asia.

Mary Brown’s Chicken & Taters offers a Made Fresh from Scratch menu. The chicken comes in whole and fresh to each store where it’s hand cut, marinated, hand breaded and prepared to order. Mary Brown’s Taters are made from farm fresh Canadian potatoes – hand cut, seasoned and cooked in small batches in each store.
