Rabba Fine Foods Receives Inaugural Impact Award for its Rabba Roots Community Program

New program from Canadian Grocer recognizes companies that are making a difference

Rabba Fine Foods, a company with a long history of community support, announces that its Rabba Roots Community Program has been recognized in the Community Service/Local Impact/Giving Back category as part of the inaugural 2021 Impact Awards program.

Staff at The Good Shepherd Ministries in Toronto on February 2021 serve a nice Super Bowl meal to their community members and residents of the centre thanks to a partnership with Rabba Fine Foods and its community giving program, Rabba Roots. For the past three years, Rabba Roots has provided guests warm food and an added reason to smile during Super Bowl weekend.

Organized by Canadian Grocer, the Impact Awards is the premier business awards program recognizing the meaningful initiatives introduced by retailers, suppliers and solution providers in the Canadian grocery industry.

“Contributing to local communities is at the very heart of who we are,” says Rima Rabba, spokesperson for Rabba Fine Foods. “We are honored to be recognized by our peers but, most importantly, we are hopeful that we can continue to make a positive difference in the lives of our neighbours.”

Rabba Roots is a community giving program that is committed to contributing to the lives of people through access to food and health and emergency services. It is also a supporter of arts and events that add colour to local communities. Led by Rabba Fine Foods and its founding partners, Rabba Roots believes that a good community starts with good neighbours.

Through Rabba Roots, the company has recently helped local emergency shelters, food banks, children’s hospitals and provided funding to help ICU units through a longstanding partnership with Trillium Health Partners.

Honourees of the 2021 Impact Awards were selected by the editorial board of Canadian Grocer for demonstrating meaningful initiatives in a range of areas – from helping the planet to supporting employees and communities. The honourees will be announced in the September/October issue of Canadian Grocer magazine and online at canadiangrocer.com.

“We opened nominations just a few months ago and received so many incredible submissions,” says Shellee Fitzgerald, editor-in-chief of Canadian Grocer. “Congratulations to Rabba Fine Foods and its Rabba Roots Community Program for its good works and many contributions.”
