Quebec is known for having a unique legal framework that establishes its own rules for franchise sales, very particular language laws, and other regulatory requirements that apply to franchising. This session will provide valuable insight to franchise system leaders planning for compliance when considering entry into the Quebec market, highlighting key differences from the requirements applicable in disclosure provinces.
Participants will be invited to participate in an interactive discussion that will address in particular the pre-contractual disclosure process under Quebec civil law, as well as French language compliance matters, in addition to important distinctions between Quebec’s private sector privacy law and PIPEDA. Effective strategies for ensuring compliance will also be discussed.
