How the CFA is working for the Canadian franchise industry:
While COVID-19 has changed how the CFA carries out our advocacy work in an increasingly virtual world, it hasn’t changed our mandate. Throughout the past year, we continued to work tirelessly to ensure that decision makers across the country understand the importance of franchising and the franchise business model to Canada’s economy and to the livelihoods of 1.9 million Canadians who are employed in franchising.
It’s a big job to stay on top of the laws, regulations, government programs, and emerging issues that might impact franchising and franchised businesses in Canada in a regular year — and this was far from a regular year. Over the past 12 months, we’ve worked to help make governments understand the needs of franchised businesses and to ensure that the programs they rolled out to help businesses worked for Canadian franchises.
